*CNY Dinner w my Secondary School friends @ a Vegetarian Restaurant*

There were 10 of us so we ordered quite a wide variety of food.

Let's start with a "Lou Hei" first!

This is the suckling pig - but vegetarian

"sharks fin"

The food was pretty tasty & delicious. Full of flavours.

Don't you think it looks yummilicious?

& it's all VEGETARIAN! Quite cool har?

Happy Chinese New Year!

As usual, each year Daddy will think of new "tricks" to give us our Ang Pows.

& for 2012... he decided to have a "Talent Competition".

What we had to do:

1) Sing a song together (Jonathan, Jocelyn & I)

2) Each of us had to play the guitar & sing a song of our choice

3) Act out an advertisement (3 of us decided to act together & do the "Heineken Ad")

With these 3 tasks done... it then depended on our luck.

Daddy had prepared 4 "Ang Pows", each containing $30, $40, $50 and x2 respectively.

We were given 3 tries to pick.

** x2 (times 2) meant that if we picked $50 in the first round,

and picked x2 in the second, the sum will automatically x2 = $100 (eg.)

However if we got x2 in the first round, we will straight away get $100 for that round.

Therefore, as i said it depended on luck...

we could pick $30, $30 and $30 = collecting only $90

or $30, $40 and x2 = collecting $140

If lucky enough... x2 for 3 rounds could get us $400! (but nahs, none that luckily.HAHA!)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hope everyone had an enjoyable X'Mas =)

The 1st celebration started out last Friday w my Uni friends.

It was quite a good one especially since we celebrated Lester's birthday too.

Christmas Eve was a pretty busy day because Dear & I went grocery shopping,

not to just ONE supermarket, but 4, that we finally managed to get

all the ingredients for the coming X'Mas Party.

It's like everyone else is also cooking, and the supermarkets didn't stock up?

We had the countdown in the night at his friend's (N) place.

Woke up really late the next day.

Didn't do much stuff except for watching "The Walking Dead Season 2".

It's kinda nice not having to do anything and just chilling out w your love one.

A simple dinner at Watami to satisfy our rumbling tummies :)

& Yesterday, it was Christmas Party at his place.

It was potluck so everyone or each couple had to bring a dish.

He cooked his superlicious yummy Onion Soup which takes hours to make.

I gave him "moral support!" *HAHA*

Last Friday was the last day of my job.

So my colleagues & i booked a room at STUDIO M HOTEL for a one night stay.

To relax, enjoy, drink & be merry.

We were supposed to have some company event on that day

which explains the similar T-Shirt.

When girls have fun together at the Jacuzzi...

we look like twins here - D & I.

everyone has a past, so do i.

i will miss those times having fun at work

Judge me all you want. For i don't really care.

They asked me if i'm scared, and i replied,

"So what if i am?"There's nothing I can do. Can i?"

It's pretty hard to get a nice proper gift these days because

Nonetheless, it was a good meet-up :)

I don't know why they suggested taking a picture on the train.

Maybe for the "touristy feel"?

Or maybe because our MRT is getting more popular on the headline news.

That everyone is uncertain of when the train will breakdown AGAIN.

Since 13 t0 23 years old... 10 years of crazy old friends.

Shoes getting thrown into the school pond, Human getting thrown into the bin,

and Volunteering to get thrown by eggs on someone's birthday.

That's all the silly things we did in our Secondary School Days.

Yesterday, i went to Malaysia w Kaiwei for a relaxation day together.

We had lunch first before going for a 2 hours massage session

-1 hour Thai Massage + 1 hour Foot Massage.

Despite not being a big fan of salad, this bowl of "thing" was so yummilicious

that i'm sure i couldn't get enough of it.

FYI, it cost $25 for this bowl of salad.

My 1st time riding it. Pretty cool! It's not that difficult actually.

My company had Dinner & Dance at Grand Park City Hall last Friday.

It was a night of entertainment & fun.

Now let me show my colleagues,

the ones who make it fun working in the company,

even though don't work with them directly at all. Irony isn't it?

Managed to catch the movie- "The Ides of March" over the weekends,

despite my Boyfriend's busy schedule.

Aside from that, because it's a Public Holiday today,

it means only 4 more days to Weekends!

The other day when we had Itacho Sushi... His favourites :)

I know this came a little late but... Happy Deepavali!

My company had half day off on the eve so i could leave work "early" at 3pm.

Better than nothing right?

So i decided to go do my manicure & pedicure since i had the time.

Now i don't have "distorted coloured nails".

& then i went to Dear's place for a nap while he was still at work.

At night, we went MBS to party at PANGAEA with his friends.

Apparently, it's a "high end" club.

& just last Friday, we also went to party at The Royal Room.

So much PARTY-ING! Plus tomorrow!

It's like partying came back into my life again.

Anyway i'm on a look-out for a new job.

My contract is ending so i guess I've to start doing something...

I attended a Forex Trading training sometime a while ago,

& i learnt quite a bit of stuff within that few hours of "crash course".

It's my 1st time learning on FOREX trading.

Well, what's better than having some "HANDS ON" try-out?

We were each given an account with a start up of $20,000

for a Demo Trading Competition.

Just to clarify, it's "fake money" so no real hard cash involved.

Despite saying that, if we could "grow" and "multiply" that amount to be the winner,

real "moolahs" can be won!

It's all about BUY OR SELL.

When i first started out, i was a bit cautious with the amount i "invested"

as i wasn't really sure and confident.

But slowly, when i got a hang out of things, i put in bigger amounts and quantity.

Here comes the "BAD NEWS"... there's once i lost $11,000 overnight.

My heart sank.

I tried to earn it back but... it's REALLY HARD.

I would say that the market is unpredictable.

But i decided it's either ALL or NOTHING.

I reckon that i wouldn't be able to earn back the $11K so fast,

so i chose to "hiong" and put in BIG BIG Amount (hoping to earn a profit)

Some questions that i asked as a "new learner".

1) What is the Margin Requirement column for? What does it represent?

- The column ‘Amount’ is the position you are holding to earn profits.

- Now the ‘Margin Requirement’ column represents the actual funds

needed to hold that ‘Amount’ amount.

- Notice how you don’t need to hold the full amount to trade?

This is called leveraged trading where, you only need a portion for your trading.

And this would make trading risky.

- So in G.K. Goh case, the leverage is 50 times. i.e. you need 2% to trade the ‘Amount’

- So if ‘Amount’ is 100,000, your ‘Margin Requirement’ should be 2,000. (100,000 x 2%)

2) What is the Unrealized (pips) an indication of? How do i understand it?

- There are 2 ways to calculate your P&L.

The nominal amount = ‘Unrealized’or how far from your current position = ‘Unrealized (pips)’

- So ‘Unrealized (pips)’ = to the number of units from the point you have bought or sold that particular currency pairs.

3) If my account balance now is $21144.18, does it m

ean i have earned?

- Yes, it shows that you have made a profit of +$1,144.18.

And you should be looking at the ‘Account Balance’ Column.

The ‘Account Equity’ would represent the ‘Account Balance’ + ‘Unrealzied’

Anyway just a few days ago... i lost another $5K plus.

So you can estimate how much i'm left :(

At least i had a good experience with Forex Trading!

12 October 2011- Happy 23rd Birthday to myself & 11th Monthsary =)

We went to this place called "BIG BAD WOLF".

They are famous for their Burgers- Beef Patty,

and the Mussels are really good! Especially with their special sauce.

On top of that, they also serve Bailey Chocolate Tarts!

The chocolate was really thick and smooth,

but i think the bailey was a bit too strong for my palates.

Last Saturday, Dear had a SURPRISE Birthday Party for me!

He invited all my good friends down to the club house at his place.

It was very sweet of him :)

He blindfolded me from his house and just asked me to follow.

Deep in my heart, i was nervous because i didn't know where i was going.

& when i could finally remove the blindfold to see my surroundings,

I was shocked and i didn't know how to react.

Probably the best phrase to describe is, "at a loss for words".

I know my facial expression looked like i was "lost"

when i saw my family & friends.

But honestly, i was feeling really ecstatic inside.

It's like my 21st birthday "relived" again!

The peeps who came were:

My family, University Classmates, Poly Classmates,

Secondary school guys, and Jaime.

& my birthday cake was made by Dear- Tiramisu.

He spent the whole afternoon preparing it.

she played an important role in the arrangement of this Birthday Party too.

I know i have been missing out quite a bit.
So let me just start from where i last left out from... 1st Sunday of October.
& i'm referring to exciting or happening stuff.

Well, i got to wear my newly bought dress
for a wedding that I attended w Dear at Capella.
I pretty much like it :) and it's not expensive.

On Tuesday, my uni mates met up for dinner
as well as for a birthday celebration for ZhiQiang, Arnold & I.
When we were in school, we ranted about how horrible school work was.
Now when we are working, we complain how terrible working life is.
Maybe we're just humans, we complain.
Nonetheless, we're like one BIG family :)

My next post will be on Dear's Birthday Surprise for me!

Had an early celebration for Jaime's 21st Birthday on the previous Friday.

It was the 2 of us, and then Dear joined us for dinner at Itacho Sushi,

before having drinks at BalaClava.

I hope she was happy and enjoyed herself!

Dear cooked for us on Saturday because he was inspired by a "steak video".

I could see that he was really excited

when he shared about the video to me the other day.

Obviously there's nothing for me to complain because i get to enjoy food :)

We bought all the ingredients in the afternoon.

Then as usual, we did our weekly exericse -Tennis & Swimming.

His Onion Soup took almost 3 hours to prepare.

Because the time taken for the onions to "dissolve and become brown" is quite long.

He did all the work :) HEHE

We bought this Wagyu Beef. So expensive for 2 pieces!

Oh yes, i did help out... To cook the corn only. HEHE!

Basically just put the corn into the boiling water and THAT'S IT.

Plus BUTTERING! HAHAH!

Yesterday I met Dear for the movie- Contagion.

Simple Wednesday

I was in town at 9am this morning.

Yea i must be nuts.

There weren't many people, obviously.

Not much noises except for the engines of buses and cars.

Didn't know where to head too since no shops were open yet.

So I sat at the McDonald's in SCAPE, bought a cup of ice milo

and engaged in my own world.

From where i was sitting, i spotted the newly opened H&M.

Thought to myself, "i should go there. Doubt there would be many people".

Time check -9.45am, still early,

so i went to sit on one of those arty farty chairs inside SCAPE

and carried on watching the movie in my iPhone.

When i came out at 10.20am, i was shocked that there was a queue outside H&M.

There were at least a 100 people.

"They must be crazy", i murmured to myself.

So anyway, i didn't go into H&M.

After all when i went to Paris the other time w Dear,

i bought a couple of stuff from H&M already.

& i didn't need to queue to get in.

So I shall wait for the hype to fade down.

Met Dear for an early lunch.

The place wasn't that crowded because probably we went early.

Healthy meal & dessert.

If my tummy could speak, it would say HAPPY.

He went back to work while i went home for a nap.

He told me, "Next week no more nappie already".

That's right, cause i'm starting work.

Had my Graduation Ceremony yesterday! OFFICIALLY GRADUATED!

My tummy had a good time enjoying the different food that i tried.

Wanton w Hot Chilli Sauce - the skin of the wanton is very soft and silky

Altho i'm not a big fan of Xiao Long Bao, this XLB definitely won me over.

I like the "juicy" taste that flows out into my mouth with the first bite.

DAY 7- DISNEYLAND IN PARIS

One of my favourite days! Dear brought me to...

This is my 1st time going to DISNEYLAND!

I actually wanted to take picture w Mickey Mouse,

but as the queue was a little horrendous, i skipped that idea.

& then next we spotted WINNIE THE POOH!

tho the queue was also horribly long, dear decided to queue for me.

he's so nice! HEHE! we waited for almost an hour before it was our turn.

But he just wanted to copy the kids in front of us who took Winnie's signature.

Actually no, he wanted to bash Winnie the Pooh instead. HAHA!

All the Princesses of Disney! I like Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine and Cinderalla :)

& the Princes appeared to have a dance w the Princesses

Our initial intention was actually to only spend half a day in Disneyland,

but as I was really enjoying, we spent almost the whole day! HAHA!

It's really an eye opener! Grand & Magnificent! Swept me off my feet!

about the different areas in the palace -they have different "rooms" display.

We started off from the chapel...

which is a place for celebration

Doesn't look very "GRAND"...

But i will want to have a feel of sleeping on a bed

that's stacked up like really thick and high

I think the queen's bedroom is so much more prettier :)

Each of these paintings have a "story" behind- Such as a battle etc.

Now i'm getting out of the palace...

and walking in the garden, which is really HUGEEEEE too.

I think it's not comparable to anything in Singapore.

The land space is WOW...

To be honest, i couldn't even really see the end...

relaxing, enjoying & that's life + love :)

Didn't post much pictures for the palace of versailles as well

because i'm not going to spoil the "enjoyment"

for those of you who will visit the place next time.

But it's a MUST GO. "Eye opener"

The interesting thing about this restaurant is that...

they only have a "Menu of the Day"

(so you can't choose what you want to eat, there's no ala carte or whatsoever)

"Hui Ge" is very nice and friendly in person.

Catch this movie in the cinema when it releases on 4th August 2011!

"Fist of Dragon" tells the story of Li, who comes to South East Asia by the request of his father to help out his uncle who has been facing financial difficulties. Li, upon arriving in the town, feels out of place due to the differences in cultures of the people here. When he discovers that his uncle has been facing many hardships posed by the local mobsters, Li decided to stay and to help his uncle and get rid of them. However, Li encounter numerous resistances from the locals as Li's action brings the wrath of the triad and drags the whole town into turmoil. Moreover, his uncle's daughter, Lily is on the triad side, and their relationship is badly affected when the confrontation between the two groups reach its peak.

Yesterday was a packed day for me.

It was a journey from the North, to the West,

to Central, back to West and then Central again.

Spent a lot of $$$ on transport.

Totally madness but at least i managed to squeeze all my interview plans in a day,

& i also got to meet my Dear for lunch.

By evening, i was pretty much worn out already

so luckily it was just movie-watching with Kaiwei.

Both of us went to "PAR-TOR" ;)

Have been waking up really early for the past few days

and will have too for the next few as well.

It PREPs me up for the working force.

But eh... i haven found a job yet lei. HAHA!

Oh! & i dyed my hair too... something like reddish dark brown.

I hope when it fades, i will have "kim kim" (golden) hair!

DAY 3 - LUBERON VILLAGES

Different towns have different market days.

& even though we only went to 2 different "markets" (Arles + L'Isle Sur la Sorgue),

the feeling + atmosphere were totally different. NICE!

[we came here just to have an experience of the market only :) ]

After lunch, it was the experience of the Villages.

Here at GORDES, which is a really awesome place...

(this is the 1st time i feel that pictures cannot bring out the beauty of a place.

my pictures can't show how WOW it is)

My best description of it - "JAW DROP".

Among all the villages i visited, this is the BEST.

Then next to another village... Roussillon

(the villages are not very near to each other. it's all on top of some mountain/hill.

so driving is very important)

I observed that different villages have different "themes".

Gives a totally different feeling - which is good.

Behind me is the famous ocres.

we also went to some other villages
but i won't be posting it up b/c there's too many

....

Lavenders

I guess "people-watching" originated from the French.

Because if you notice, they don't sit opposite each other.

Almost everywhere we went,
people sat beside one another, looking to the "main street". It's their culture.

Worked out w Kaiwei & Arnold at SAFRA Jurong on Wednesday.

It's my 1st time paying $8.55 to go to the gym! That's considerably EXPENSIVE!

Although i don't deny that the facilities are much better by A BIT,

I will prolly only go there again if i print $$$.

Went to Malaysia yesterday w my girls to relax and stayed there for a day.

I don't know when will be the next time we'll do this again when all of us gets a job.

You know... busy schedules, different work places, different commitments.

That aside, weekends are here! Means it's time to enjoy.

My 1st time to France (Provence & Paris)!

Upon arrival at Charles de Gaulle (Paris Airport),
traveled another 3 hours train ride to Provence(Avignon)
which is the South of France...

Slowly searched for the way to Saint Remy where our hotel was located at
and finally REACHED! The place we stayed for 4D3N...

The "hotels" in Saint Remy are like little cottages/houses... very homely.

It was already about 3pm and our tummies started to complain.

So we settled for a quick bite...

before moving on to explore the "TRAILS OF VAN GOGH".

I only posted some in my blog.
Apparently some of the inspiration of his paintings were from there?

Completed the walk in est. 2 hours?

i also bought a box of different flavoured chocolates!

And before we knew, it was time for...

We mostly had set meals which came with an Appetizer, Main Course & Dessert.

I really like their presentation of food. Why Asian dishes not like that?

The day is longer than the night.

Therefore the sky only got dark at about 10pm?

this is just the beginning...

Had lunch at Copthorne King's hotel on Thursday.
They served Penang food - Laksa, Prawn Mee, Rojak etc.

And then Friday was hang out session w my uni mates- Potluck.
Swim, eat, have fun! That's what "UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE" do. *HAHA*

Quite a healthy week w Dear b/c we went to gym & swim.
Had a session w him, and he taught me to use machines that i'd never tried before.
I can feel my chest still aching.
B/c i didn't feel like going out, we just chilled at his place watching DVD,
and today we watched TV (random shows)! *HAHA*
It may sound boring to you, but definitely not me.

Sometimes i like simple weekends like this.
It's the simplest thing that makes me smile.

Will be posting my Paris Trip tomorrow!

Happy 8th :)

Was out w my girls today to chill & slack...

and then i left to meet Dear for a date.

We had Hokkien mee for dinner (i miss eating this when i was in Paris),

Cold Stone ice cream for dessert and then watched "Transformers".

A simple and loved day :)

A well-spent Wednesday :)

Girls' meetup are always fun - lotsa gossips & updates.

kaiwei & i then headed to meet Paul + Arnold.

We took a really long 2 hours bus ride. *HAHA*

I'm leaving for France (Paris) tonight w Dear!

So excited!

Gonna be back on 10 July :)
